Below you’ll find a few notes about themes in my stories that could trigger certain audiences. Others might view these as spoilers. If you do, please skip this page entirely and go straight to reading!
The content warnings are broad, so if you need further clarification to check if a book is safe for you, you can email me directly on hello@laineydelaroque.com.
Also a note on em dashes—I like them a lot, and my editors do too. They have been part of written literature way before the inception of AI, and it’s unfortunate for many authors that em dashes have become one of the key characteristics of AI writing.
So I want to make a clear statement before you begin reading any of my books: I do not use any AI when writing or editing. All em dashes come from me or my editors and are sprawling in the text in their long, perfect shapes entirely as a result of the human brains that love them.
Discussions of relationship trauma throughout the story from the point of view of a main character and some minor characters
Descriptions of violence throughout the story, including murder and bullying
A few graphic sex scenes
Occasional bad language
